The introduction of a second male ensemble in the second season altered the entire show’s dynamic. The series has been canceled by Prime Video, so it is currently unknown how this will impact the program overall.

The Wilds got off to a strong start on Prime Video, with Amazon renewing the program for a second season just one week after the premiere of the first batch of episodes.

Nonetheless, it did not receive the same treatment the second time. In fact, Deadline reported the show’s cancellation at the end of July 2022.

Later, Shannon Berry, who portrays Dottie, confirmed the news and expressed her sorrow on Instagram Stories, saying, “Thank you, Dottie, for being the most incredible part of these past four years. I will always miss this unsinkable.”

Mia Healy, who portrays Shelby, also paid homage to her character and shared behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram with the caption, “I adore you all, Shelby. I am forever altered and forever grateful. Many thanks, many thanks, many thanks!”

As for why The Wilds were canceled, Deadline reports that the second season failed to match the excitement generated by the first season, resulting in the show’s cancellation.

If The Wilds had been renewed for a third season, it is probable that all of the surviving characters from the second season would have returned. Sophia Ali, Shannon Berry, Jenna Clause, Reign Edwards, Mia Healey, Erana James, and Sarah Pidgeon were among the group’s female members.

The most probable male returnees were Charles Alexander, Zack Calderon, Nicholas Coombe, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Aidan Laprete, Tanner Ray Rook, and Reed Shannon. Alex Fitzalan and Helena Howard would have remained in the ensemble of The Wilds for season three had Seth and Nora not also been expected to return. Unfortunately, the cast was as anxious as we were for a third season.
