Jack Antonoff Early Life
On March 31, 1984, Jack Antonoff was born in Bergenfield, New Jersey. His mother is Shira (Wall) and his father is Rick Antonoff. Rachel Antonoff, his younger sister, is a fashion designer. Sarah, Antonoff’s younger sibling, passed away at age 13 from brain cancer.
His childhood was spent in New Milford and Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, and he attended the Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County. Both he and his sister attended secondary school at the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan.
How Did Jack Antonoff Begin His Career?
During his sophomore year of high school, in November 1998, he formed the punk rock band Outline with numerous elementary school friends. In January of 2000, a friend’s record imprint, Lifetime Records, released their self-titled EP. Before Eddie Wright took over main vocal duties in early 2000, Antonoff was a member of the group.
With the addition of Wright, they recorded six songs, which were subsequently released as a 6-Song Demo in the summer. Their debut album, A Boy Can Dream, was released in July 2001 by Triple Crown Records.
At the age of 15, Antonoff and his Outline bandmate used a do-it-yourself guide to coordinate performances across the country, including in Florida and Texas, while traveling in Antonoff’s parents’ minivan. Jack Antonoff’s Career
Steel Train was founded by him and Scott Irby-Rainer in 2002. In 2003, they signed a recording contract with Drive-Thru Records and released the EP For You My Dear.
Antonoff subsequently founded Bleachers and published the album Strange Desire in July 2014, with the single I Want to Get Better topping the US Alternative charts. In June of 2017, he released his second studio album, entitled “Gone Now.”
